Revaan Sancheti belongs to a new group of jewellery designers who blend creative ideas with real-world business sense. Focusing on design, exact numbers, and market demand, Revaan looks at jewellery not just as art, but as a practical business where creative ideas must fit production budgets and customer needs.
Having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Gems & Jewellery Design (2023–2026) from the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ), Mumbai, Revaan built a solid foundation in merchandising, trend analysis, costing, and product evaluation. His time at IIGJ Mumbai helped him look at jewellery from two angles at once: how it looks on paper, and how it performs in the market.
His work balances creative problem-solving with smart sales strategy, making him a great fit for brand teams where design ideas need to stay practical and profitable.
"Where creativity drives the idea, practicality guides the process, and purpose defines the product."

Journey Into Jewellery
Revaan’s path in jewellery grew out of an interest in both creative forms and the practical mechanics of how products reach people. During his three-year degree at IIGJ Mumbai, he developed a strong focus on the commercial side of the industry. He recognized early on that while aesthetics attract buyers, smart pricing, proper costing, and consumer understanding keep a jewellery business running.
This training at IIGJ Mumbai helped him build skills across merchandising, trend analysis, basic accounting, and product evaluation. The structured learning environment at IIGJ Mumbai allowed him to see jewellery as a complete journey—starting from a creative thought, moving through factories, and landing in a retail case.
His philosophy is straightforward: think practically. Rather than categorising an idea as simply positive or negative, Revaan focuses on understanding the situation, evaluating its possibilities and limitations, and arriving at what is realistically viable. This practical mindset shapes the way he approaches products, audiences, pricing, and business decisions.

Learning Through Industry Experience
Revaan’s learning went beyond the classroom through his active work at UNI Design Jewellery Pvt. Ltd., where he works directly on merchandising, client pitches, and new product lines.
Through his professional role, he helps prepare product presentations and develop collections for major retail brands including Tanishq, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, and Aditya Birla. He participates in New Product Development (NPD) meetings with BEYON, taking customer feedback and translating it into market-ready designs. His daily experience includes visiting retail stores to study buyer behavior, researching alternative materials like titanium for lightweight collections, and coordinating with factory CAD teams to make sure designs remain affordable and easy to manufacture.
Design Project
For his final-year GLIMPZ showcase at IIGJ Mumbai, Revaan created his capstone collection, Jodha Virasat. Drawing inspiration from the architecture of Amer Fort in Jaipur and the legacy of Jodha Bai, the collection translates classic fort arches and historic details into five wearable, contemporary pieces under the themes Heritage Elan and Timeless Legacy.
The project covered every stage of development. Guided by the faculty at IIGJ Mumbai, Revaan took each piece from rough hand sketches to CorelDRAW, 3D CAD modelling, and full factory production. He also managed gemstone sourcing, calculated production costs, and organised the catalogue photo shoot, giving him end-to-end experience in turning a raw concept into a finished exhibition line.

Design Philosophy
Revaan’s design work is built around careful observation, clear problem-solving, and practical creativity. He believes good design starts by understanding what a piece is for and how someone will feel wearing it. Rather than designing purely for looks, he focuses on how form, comfort, weight, materials, and daily wear come together.
His design thinking centres on:
- Creative problem-solving
- Observation and exploration
- Functionality and wearability
- Proper proportion and balance
- Material understanding
- Practical execution
- Contemporary market trends
For Revaan, jewellery is a continuous balance between an idea and its making—where creativity opens up choices, design thinking solves problems, and practical sense brings the concept to life.
