The drive was organised in association with Narusha Leonath Dsouza, Rubaru Miss India Elite 2021 and Miss Goa 2019, along with the Ulhas Jewellers team, with saplings planted to encourage greener public spaces and a more sustainable future.
Sharing the purpose behind the initiative, the retailer said, “With every sapling planted, we reaffirm our commitment to environmental awareness and a more sustainable future. For us, building a legacy goes beyond jewellery; it also means giving back to the community and caring for the world around us.”
Founded by Pandharinath Verlekar in 1927, Ulhas Jewellers is recognised as one of Goa’s oldest jewellery houses. Over the decades, the brand has grown from traditional jewellery trade to serving modern preferences with ethnic and contemporary jewellery collections.
The company’s focus on quality, trust and compliance has played a key role in its legacy. The jeweller states that it is Goa’s first ISO 9001:2008 certified jewellery house, along with being the first jeweller in the state and fourth in India to be Trustmark certified. Its offerings include 916 hallmarked gold jewellery certified by BIS, along with IGI-certified diamond jewellery.
Through this plantation drive, the brand extended its legacy beyond jewellery, underlining its commitment to social responsibility, sustainability and community care.
