Rajkot: The INJEWEL Skill Development Centre in Rajkot became the hub for industry learning on 17 July 2026, as the INJEWEL Association hosted its Jewellery Industry Awareness Seminar. The seminar brought together jewellery professionals, students and association members to engage directly with law enforcement on cybercrime risks, secure billing practices, digital compliance and other operational challenges.
The event was organised under the guidance of INJEWEL’s board members: Jignesh Shah (Chairman), Pravin Vaidya (Vice Chairman), Vineet Vasa (Secretary), Chetan Satikuvar (Vice Secretary), and Sanjay Dhakan (Treasurer). Their active participation ensured a structured program that combined awareness-building, practical demonstrations, and engagement with local authorities.
Students from INJEWEL welcomed DCP Shri Jagdish Bangarwa, along with the SOG Rajkot team—PI N B Chaudhari, PSI V V Dhrangu, PC Yogendrasinh Zala—and the Cyber Crime Unit, including PI Brijrajsinh Jadeja, Wireless PSI K J Rana, Wireless PSI A V Baldaniya, and HC Maunikbhai. The presence of these officials reinforced the seminar’s focus on connecting law enforcement insights with industry practices.
During the seminar, DCP Jagdish Bangarwa addressed the growing impact of cybercrime on businesses, with a particular emphasis on social-media fraud, phishing, digital harassment, and online scams that could target jewellers and their clients. Attendees were briefed on how fraudsters exploit social media interactions, request video calls, or attempt blackmail to gain financial information, and were instructed on proper reporting protocols to authorities, including the 1930 helpline and cybercrime.gov.in .
The session also highlighted practical tools such as the Chakshu portal, which allows individuals and businesses to register mobile numbers to prevent harassment, as well as government apps like M Cover 2 for device security and anti-fraud monitoring. Officers shared advice on creating strong passwords, monitoring device updates, and taking precautionary steps to secure digital assets.
For the jewellery industry, the seminar provided additional guidance on billing transparency, compliance and operational efficiency. The session illustrated how adopting standardised billing systems, secure record-keeping and digital oversight could protect both the business and its clients, while also streamlining operations.
Board members spoke about the association’s continuing efforts to educate members on emerging industry challenges. Jignesh Shah, Pravin Vaidya, Vineet Vasa, Chetan Satikuvar, and Sanjay Dhakan emphasised that awareness, training and proactive adoption of secure practices are critical for sustaining trust within the jewellery ecosystem.
