IIGJ Jaipur Engages 228 Students Through Alankar Jewellery Carnival 2026
Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery, Jaipur organised the Alankar Jewellery Carnival 2026, where 228 students from leading city schools took part in a day-long programme on creativity, craft and design learning
The carnival was structured to introduce school students to jewellery design and related creative disciplines through practical, activity-led sessions. Workshops covered resin art, bead work, sustainable jewellery, fashion and fabric accessories, and mandala art, giving participants exposure to different materials, design processes and forms of hand-crafted expression.
Students from Ryan International School, Rukmani Birla, Cambridge Court and Vidhyashram were among those who took part in the event. The participation reflected increasing interest among young learners in creative education, particularly in areas connected to design, jewellery, craft and applied arts.
The sessions encouraged students to understand design not only as a visual activity but also as a process involving material selection, technique, patience and execution. By engaging directly with craft-based formats, students were able to explore how ideas can be translated into finished creative pieces.
The initiative also underlined the importance of early exposure to jewellery and design education. For institutes such as IIGJ Jaipur, such programmes help build awareness about career possibilities in jewellery design, manufacturing, fashion accessories, gemmology and allied creative industries.
Alankar Jewellery Carnival 2026 positioned design learning as an accessible and engaging experience for school students, while also connecting classroom creativity with the larger jewellery and design ecosystem.
