Kolkata: B.C. Sen Jewellers hosted the 2026 edition of Swarnanjali with a live presentation of VayuVaani at the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium in Alipore, Kolkata, on Sunday, 12th July. The concert, which began at 5.30 pm, reportedly witnessed a full house and brought together an ensemble of recognised performers from Indian classical, playback and contemporary music. Titled VayuVaani by Rakesh and Friends, the programme was led by Grammy Award-winning flautist Pandit Rakesh Chaurasia and featured acclaimed playback singer Mahalakshmi Iyer. The musical concept explored the relationship between the flute and the human voice, supported by rhythm-led and contemporary arrangements. The line-up also included guitarist and composer Sanjoy Das, tabla exponent Satyajit Talwalkar, composer and vocalist Sangeet Haldipur, drummer Gino Banks and bassist Sheldon D’Silva. Through a combination of flute, vocals, percussion, guitar, keyboards and bass, the performers created a collaborative set that moved across classical influences and modern soundscapes. The presentation was designed around the themes of friendship, rhythm and resonance. The event formed part of B.C. Sen Jewellers’ Swarnanjali initiative, through which the jewellery house associates its brand with music, cultural performance and audience engagement. Rather than presenting a conventional promotional programme, the evening placed live artistry at the centre of the brand experience. With VayuVaani, B.C. Sen Jewellers brought together celebrated musicians on a single stage while offering Kolkata audiences a curated cultural experience combining established musical traditions with contemporary performance. Established in 1888, B.C. Sen Jewellers is one of Kolkata’s longstanding jewellery houses, with a legacy built on traditional craftsmanship, design excellence and generations of customer trust. Over more than a century, the brand has remained closely connected with Bengal’s cultural identity while evolving its jewellery offerings to meet contemporary tastes.
