Zi Makes Jewellery Debut With Contemporary Sterling Silver Collection

Indian design house Zi has entered the fine jewellery space with its debut women’s collection crafted in 925 sterling silver. Founded by precious metals industry veteran Yogesh Khandelwal, the online-exclusive brand offers nickel-free, tarnish-resistant pieces across three mix-and-match lines designed to transform fine silver into an everyday wardrobe staple.

Mumbai: Indian design house Zi has entered the jewellery category with its debut women’s collection in 925 sterling silver, introducing a contemporary proposition built around jewellery as part of the everyday wardrobe rather than something reserved for occasions.

The launch marks Zi’s first move into jewellery and establishes the design language the house intends to build on: clean forms, restrained detailing and versatile silhouettes that can move easily between work, everyday dressing and more elevated settings. Rather than presenting the collection as a single line, Zi has organised its debut into three distinct edits — Staple Edits, Forever Favourites and Evening Elegance.

Staple Edits centres on everyday essentials, while Forever Favourites brings together versatile pieces conceived for repeated wear. Evening Elegance shifts towards more elevated jewellery designed for after-dark and occasion dressing.

Together, the three edits reflect a broader idea at the heart of the launch: encouraging consumers to build a jewellery wardrobe. Pieces can be worn independently, layered or combined across the edits, moving the conversation away from jewellery purchased solely for specific occasions.

Materiality plays an equally important role in the proposition. 925 sterling silver forms the foundation of the collection, complemented by gold plating on select designs and rhodium plating where relevant. The jewellery is also nickel- and lead-free, with Zi placing particular emphasis on finish, material quality and long-term wearability.

For founder and director Yogesh Khandelwal, the brand’s interpretation of luxury is closely linked to how well-designed objects become part of everyday life. “For us, Zi is less about defining luxury and more about redefining how we experience it. It is a lifestyle built around thoughtful design, remarkable materials and objects that bring a sense of character to everyday life,” he said.

Behind the design-led positioning is more than two decades of experience across the precious-metals value chain. Khandelwal’s background spans bullion trading, refining, manufacturing and precious-metals import-export, giving the new brand an industry foundation that extends beyond product styling alone.

Zi is using that expertise to build a contemporary jewellery proposition in which material understanding is paired with a more modern, lifestyle-oriented design vocabulary.

Its first collection therefore avoids being anchored to weddings, festivals or traditional occasion-led buying. Instead, the emphasis is on jewellery that can become part of regular dressing — from understated staples to more expressive pieces capable of transitioning into evening wear.

The debut collection launched exclusively on Zi’s online platform on 24th August 2026, with prices starting at Rs 3,500.

Jewellery, however, represents the opening chapter of a wider ambition for the design house. Zi is already developing future jewellery collections, including The Classics and The Atelier, while exploring additional lifestyle categories.

The direction suggests that Zi is positioning itself not simply as a new silver-jewellery label, but as a broader design house built around considered materials, contemporary aesthetics and objects intended to live beyond the occasion.
