The new facility was formally inaugurated by Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), who led the ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of senior leaders from across the Indian gem and jewellery trade.
Joining him were Pramod Agrawal (Derewala), Chairman of the National Gem & Jewellery Council of India (NGJCI); Rajesh Rokde, Chairman of the All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC); and Arvind Gupta, President of SGJIA.
The gathering also brought together several prominent representatives of Jaipur’s jewellery fraternity, including Raju Agarwal Mangodiwala, President of the Jewellers Association Jaipur, and Rajiv Jain, Chairman of the Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS), reflecting the strong institutional support behind the Sitapura manufacturing community.
More than simply a new administrative address, the Jugal Kishore Gupta Tower represents SGJIA’s ambition to create a dedicated platform for collaboration, business development and long-term industry growth.
Industry leaders present at the inauguration described the building as a symbol of the collective strength, unity and entrepreneurial spirit that have helped position Jaipur as one of the world’s most influential centres for gemstone processing and jewellery manufacturing.
The facility will serve as a central base for the Sitapura gem and jewellery manufacturing ecosystem, which comprises more than 150 manufacturing units operating within and around the Sitapura Special Economic Zone.
The cluster has emerged as an important contributor to Jaipur’s export economy, generating more than ₹2,200 crore in exports while supporting thousands of artisans, craftsmen, gemstone professionals, manufacturers and allied workers.
Through the new headquarters, SGJIA aims to provide members with a more structured institutional environment for addressing operational, commercial and industry-related requirements.
The building has been designed to support a broad range of activities, including business meetings, buyer interactions, trade discussions, conferences and industry networking programmes. Its meeting rooms and halls are expected to provide a professional setting for visiting international buyers, trade delegations, manufacturers and industry organisations.
By bringing gemstone cutters, jewellery manufacturers, goldsmiths, silversmiths, exporters and service providers into a common professional ecosystem, the association aims to encourage stronger collaboration across different segments of the value chain.
Skill development is also expected to remain a key focus of the facility.
SGJIA plans to use the new premises for technical workshops, training initiatives and industry development programmes, helping manufacturers and artisans adapt to evolving production technologies, compliance requirements and international market expectations.
The association is expected to provide members with greater access to business, regulatory and legal guidance, strengthening the support infrastructure available to enterprises operating within the Sitapura cluster.
The inauguration comes at a time when Jaipur continues to reinforce its position within the global coloured gemstone trade.
The city has long been recognised for its expertise in gemstone cutting, polishing and jewellery craftsmanship, with a substantial share of the world’s coloured gemstones passing through its manufacturing ecosystem.
While Jaipur’s reputation has historically been built on generations of artisanal excellence, the city is increasingly integrating modern manufacturing systems, organised export infrastructure and institutional support into its traditional strengths.
The establishment of the Jugal Kishore Gupta Tower reflects this transition.
For SGJIA, the new headquarters provides a platform not only to represent manufacturers but also to facilitate the next phase of development for Sitapura as a globally connected jewellery production and export hub.
The inauguration also marked a significant moment for the association’s leadership team, including President Arvind Gupta, Vice-President Anand Rao, Secretary Jaideep Gupta, Convenor Vijay Chordia, Treasurer Abhishek Sand and Joint Secretary Ankit Lodha, who were congratulated by members of the trade for advancing the project.
As Jaipur’s jewellery industry continues to expand its international footprint, the Jugal Kishore Gupta Tower is expected to serve as an important institutional anchor — bringing businesses together, supporting skill development and strengthening the infrastructure required to compete in an increasingly global and technology-driven jewellery market.
