Pune: Demi-fine jewellery brand Palmonas has expanded its white-metal offering with a new platinum-plated 925 sterling silver collection, marking an evolution of its existing silver strategy rather than its first entry into the category.
The collection, promoted by the brand alongside co-founder Shraddha Kapoor, starts at ₹1,700. Palmonas’ website currently identifies the range as “Platinum Plated Silver” and lists products across rings, earrings, studs, necklaces and other everyday-wear formats. Individual product specifications clearly identify 925 sterling silver as the base metal and platinum as the plating, meaning the pieces are platinum-plated silver rather than solid platinum jewellery.
The distinction is important because sterling silver has been part of Palmonas’ material vocabulary almost since inception. The Pune-based company launched its D2C website in March 2022, initially with around 30 designs. By August that year, Palmonas was already being described as producing jewellery using sterling silver and stainless steel, with 18K gold vermeil used to create the gold appearance at the centre of its original demi-fine proposition.
That silver positioning continued to develop. In 2023, Pallavi Mohadikar-Patwari explained that Palmonas deliberately selected both surgical-grade stainless steel and sterling silver as base materials before applying gold plating. A 2024 collection was similarly described as being made with 18K gold-plated sterling silver.
More recently, Palmonas has built out silver as a visible category in its own right. Its existing Silver Luxe range uses 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating and includes designs incorporating cubic zirconia and lab-grown diamonds. Its website also carries dedicated Fine Silver and silver-jewellery categories.
The new platinum-plated line therefore represents a change primarily at the finish and positioning level. Where Palmonas’ early sterling-silver products frequently used gold vermeil to deliver the appearance of gold, and its Silver Luxe products use rhodium to retain a bright white-metal appearance, the latest collection introduces platinum as another surface finish while retaining 925 silver underneath.
Commercially, the ₹1,700 starting price is particularly notable. It allows Palmonas to attach the aspirational language of platinum to an accessible demi-fine product without moving into the much higher-ticket solid-platinum jewellery segment. The collection page currently carries a substantial assortment, with multiple pieces marked as new arrivals and several entry-level styles priced below ₹2,000.
The expansion also comes as Palmonas scales its physical retail business. The company raised ₹55 crore in Series A funding led by Vertex Ventures SEA & India in 2025, with retail expansion among its priorities, and had crossed 75 operational stores by July 2026.
