Indore: Kataria Jewellers is exploring an unconventional approach to jewellery retail visual merchandising through a collaboration with automotive customisation company AG7 Cars. The retailer has introduced two specially customised luxury vehicles as part of its store display strategy, extending its brand identity beyond traditional jewellery showcases and storefront presentation.
The initiative reflects how jewellery retailers are experimenting with distinctive visual elements to create stronger brand recall and attract customer attention. By incorporating luxury automobiles into its retail presentation, Kataria Jewellers is bringing together the visual appeal of premium lifestyle products and the positioning of fine jewellery.
As part of the collaboration, AG7 Cars has customised an Audi TT and a Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 to reflect the retailer’s brand identity. The Audi TT features a Blueberry Metallic wrap with custom livery, while the Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 has received fresh paintwork and bespoke detailing inspired by Kataria Jewellers’ colours and visual identity.
Rather than serving as conventional promotional vehicles, the two cars have been developed specifically for store display, introducing a distinctive element to the retailer’s visual merchandising. The approach allows Kataria Jewellers to communicate its brand personality through a medium that extends beyond jewellery products, display counters and conventional retail décor.
In jewellery retail, storefront presentation plays an important role in attracting attention and establishing a brand’s positioning before customers enter the showroom. While traditional visual merchandising often relies on jewellery installations, festive themes, lighting and window displays, unconventional lifestyle elements can offer retailers additional opportunities to differentiate their physical presence.
The collaboration also highlights the growing importance of experiential retail, where the environment surrounding a product contributes to the overall brand experience. Customised installations can create opportunities for customer interaction, photography and social media visibility, potentially extending the impact of a retail display beyond the showroom itself.
For Kataria Jewellers, the project represents an effort to integrate luxury-inspired design into its retail identity. By using bespoke automotive displays as part of its merchandising strategy, the retailer is exploring how visual storytelling and cross-industry collaborations can contribute to a more distinctive jewellery shopping environment.
The initiative illustrates an emerging opportunity for jewellery retailers to rethink storefront merchandising, using creative installations and lifestyle associations to build brand recognition in an increasingly competitive retail market.
