Joy Alukkas Adds Cessna Citation XLS+ to Business Aviation Fleet

Joy Alukkas, Founder and Chairman of Joyalukkas Group, has added a Cessna Citation XLS+ business jet to support faster and more efficient travel across the group’s expanding operations. The acquisition highlights the growing importance of executive mobility for large jewellery businesses operating across multiple markets

Karnataka: Joy Alukkas, Founder and Chairman of Joyalukkas Group, has added a Cessna Citation XLS+ business jet to his aviation fleet, describing the aircraft as a new addition that will help support business travel and connectivity.

Announcing the aircraft on social media, Alukkas highlighted its combination of technology, performance and comfort, noting that it would make travel across business locations easier and more efficient.

The addition comes as Joyalukkas continues to operate across multiple international markets, making executive mobility an important part of managing a geographically spread business network.

Supporting a Wider Business Footprint

For large jewellery groups with operations across countries and regions, business aviation can help reduce travel time and improve access to markets, stores and business locations that may not always be convenient to reach through commercial airline schedules.

In this context, the Citation XLS+ can be seen as part of the infrastructure supporting Joyalukkas Group’s expanding international operations.

The aircraft belongs to the midsize business-jet category and is known for combining cabin comfort, range and operational flexibility.

About the Citation XLS+

The Cessna Citation XLS+ is designed for regional and medium-range executive travel and is widely used in corporate aviation.

Depending on configuration, the aircraft can accommodate around eight passengers and is suitable for travel between major cities as well as a number of regional airports.

Its ability to operate from comparatively shorter runways also makes it useful for business travel where direct access and schedule flexibility are important.

Value Not Officially Confirmed

Some social-media reports have estimated the value of the aircraft at around ₹125 crore. However, the exact purchase price, year of manufacture and configuration of the aircraft acquired by Alukkas have not been officially disclosed. The value of a Citation XLS+ can vary significantly depending on whether the aircraft is new or pre-owned, as well as its specifications and condition.

Business Aviation Gains Relevance

The development also reflects how the operational requirements of large jewellery companies are changing as they expand across international markets.

For business groups with multiple locations, frequent travel by senior management can become an important part of retail expansion, market development and day-to-day decision-making.

Alukkas, in his post, described the aircraft as a “valuable addition” that would make it easier to stay connected across business and travel.

The new Citation XLS+ therefore represents more than a high-value acquisition. It points to the growing role of business mobility and time-efficient travel in managing large, internationally active jewellery enterprises.
