Mumbai: Fiona Diamonds has introduced the Fiona Watch Collection, a series of one-of-one lab-grown diamond watches combining hand-painted miniature dials with high-jewellery gemstone setting.
The collection marks the brand’s expansion beyond conventional diamond jewellery into artistic timepieces. According to Fiona Diamonds, each watch has been conceived as an individual design rather than as part of a standard, repeatable production line.
Among the designs revealed by the brand is a watch featuring a hand-painted depiction of Shri Ram before the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The artwork has been rendered on a 24mm dial in a style inspired by the Indian painter Raja Ravi Varma.
The dial does not carry conventional hour markers, numerals or visible branding, allowing the miniature painting to remain the central visual element of the timepiece. Fiona Diamonds said the development and execution of the design took approximately six months.
Surrounding the painted dial is a sunburst arrangement of individually set marquise- and pear-shaped lab-grown diamonds. The setting extends towards the bracelet, where deep violet tanzanites introduce a contrast to the diamond composition.
The brand described the watches as jewellery pieces that also perform the function of timekeeping, rather than conventional watches decorated with diamonds. Each design in the collection has been presented as a one-of-one creation, combining Indian devotional imagery, miniature painting and contemporary diamond jewellery craftsmanship.
The Shri Ram watch forms part of a broader series of designs being introduced under the Fiona Watch Collection. The brand has indicated that additional watches are currently under development, with new hand-painted dials expected to be revealed in the coming days.
The collection reflects an increasing crossover between fine jewellery and watch design, where the dial is treated as a canvas for artistic expression. By removing numerals and prominent branding, Fiona Diamonds has placed greater emphasis on the miniature artwork and gemstone composition.
