New Delhi: Hazoorilal Legacy’s journey from a family jewellery business established in post-Partition India to a contemporary luxury house has come into focus in a new episode of Fashionably Pernia, the luxury, fashion and lifestyle podcast hosted by Pernia Qureshi.
Titled “The Making of a Legacy,” the September episode looks at the story of one of Delhi’s established jewellery houses and the evolution of the business across generations. The podcast describes the family as jewellers whose roots trace back to Lahore before they established themselves in independent India.
A central part of the conversation is the role of the third generation in carrying the Hazoorilal name forward. Director Rohan Narang, the eldest member of the third generation, today leads the house’s broader business strategy and growth, including its high-jewellery business and flagship presence in South Extension. The brand’s current third-generation leadership also includes Creative Head Sonal Narang, who has shaped its contemporary design direction, and Armaan Narang, who is involved in the Dubai business and international expansion.
The discussion also brings attention to Zoori, Hazoorilal Legacy’s everyday fine-jewellery line. Developed as a more versatile expression of the house, Zoori reflects a wider shift among legacy jewellers towards jewellery designed for contemporary lifestyles rather than only weddings and major occasions. Hazoorilal describes the collection as refined diamond jewellery intended to move easily from day to evening.
For a heritage jewellery business, the larger challenge is maintaining continuity while remaining relevant to a new generation of consumers. Hazoorilal Legacy was founded by Shri Hazoorilal Narang in 1952, with subsequent generations expanding the business while retaining its focus on craftsmanship, gemstones and client relationships.
The Fashionably Pernia feature therefore goes beyond a jewellery showcase. It offers a look at succession, brand evolution and the changing definition of legacy in Indian jewellery — where heritage increasingly has to coexist with contemporary design, everyday wear, new retail formats and international ambition.
Fashion entrepreneur and Fashionably Pernia host Pernia Qureshi is seen wearing Hazoorilal Legacy’s yellow-diamond jewellery in the accompanying visuals, adding a strong jewellery-led dimension to a conversation centred on how the house’s third generation is taking its legacy forward.
