Auckland: French luxury maison Cartier has opened a new flagship boutique at 66 Queen Street, Auckland, strengthening its presence in Oceania and adding another major international luxury name to the city’s prime retail corridor.
The boutique first opened its doors on 31 July 2026 before marking its official opening this week. It is Cartier’s eighth boutique in the Oceania region and has been designed with references to both the maison’s Parisian heritage and New Zealand’s natural creativity and craftsmanship.
The store carries Cartier’s full portfolio across fine jewellery, watches, leather goods, accessories and fragrances, including some of the house’s most recognisable collections.
The arrival has also been viewed as a positive indicator for Auckland’s luxury retail market. Viv Beck, Chief Executive of Heart of the City, described the store as a “magnificent New Zealand flagship boutique” and said Cartier’s decision reflects continued demand from global luxury brands for premium Queen Street locations.
The opening also deepens the presence of Richemont-owned maisons in Auckland. Cartier’s parent company, Compagnie Financière Richemont SA, also owns Van Cleef & Arpels and Montblanc, both of which already operate stores further along Queen Street near Commercial Bay.
With the new flagship, Cartier is reinforcing its long-term commitment to the New Zealand market while contributing to Auckland’s evolution as a stronger luxury retail destination in the wider Oceania region.
