Venice: Cartier has introduced its new Cinema Club initiative during the Venice International Film Festival, hosting filmmakers, actors and artists for an intimate gathering at The Gritti Palace on the Grand Canal.
The event brought together two worlds closely associated with the Maison — high jewellery and cinema — in a setting designed to encourage conversation away from the festival’s busier red-carpet venues on the Lido.
Guests wore a selection of Cartier creations, including Panthère-inspired pieces, diamond and onyx jewellery, statement cuffs and high jewellery designs influenced by feathers, florals and natural forms. The evening highlighted the role jewellery can play in shaping cinematic image, character and memory beyond the red carpet itself.
Speaking about Cartier’s long-standing connection with film, Pierre Rainero, Director of Style and Heritage, Cartier, reflected on the shared nature of craftsmanship across both disciplines. He noted that behind every film sequence and exceptional jewel is a wider network of artists, specialists and craftspeople working together.
The Cinema Club also reinforces Cartier’s broader support for creative communities, using film as a cultural platform rather than treating the festival solely as a celebrity showcase.
By choosing The Gritti Palace in central Venice for the inaugural gathering, Cartier created a more intimate environment around the festival, allowing the focus to remain on creative exchange, craftsmanship and the relationship between jewellery and storytelling.
With the launch of Cinema Club, the Maison is extending its engagement with cinema through a format that places artistry, collaboration and high jewellery at the centre of the conversation.
