Abharan Jewellers has reopened its historic flagship showroom on CB Road, Udupi, following an extensive renovation. The inauguration, attended by the Kamath family, actress Ankitha Amar and distinguished guests, marks a new chapter in the jewellery brand's nine-decade legacy, blending heritage craftsmanship with a modern retail experience

Udupi: Abharan Jewellers has reopened its renovated flagship showroom on CB Road in Udupi, marking a significant milestone in the jewellery brand’s nine-decade journey. Established in 1935, the historic outlet has undergone an extensive transformation, bringing together modern retail infrastructure, contemporary design and the traditional craftsmanship associated with the brand.

The reopening ceremony was attended by actress Ankitha Amar, who participated in the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony alongside Madhukar S. Kamath, Chairman of Abharan Jewellers and several distinguished guests. Geetha S. Pai and Sumana Prabhu, daughters of founder Late Shri Burde Sadananda Kamath, were also present, together with members of the Kamath family, business associates and well-wishers.

The renovated showroom holds particular significance as the brand's original retail location, established in 1935, and continues to serve as its head office and registered office. Over the decades, the CB Road establishment has remained closely connected with Udupi's commercial and cultural identity, building relationships with generations of jewellery customers.

Spread across two floors, the redesigned showroom features dedicated spaces for bridal jewellery, heritage ornaments, gemstones, traditional designs and contemporary collections. The ground floor houses the wedding, heritage and gemstone sections alongside an extensive selection of gold jewellery, while the first floor showcases the brand's Pritty, Neolite and contemporary collections.

The renovation has been undertaken to provide customers with a more organised and comfortable shopping experience while retaining the showroom's traditional appeal. The redesigned interiors, improved product displays and dedicated jewellery sections reflect the company's efforts to accommodate changing consumer preferences and showcase its expanding product portfolio.

The reopening also included the unveiling of several dedicated jewellery sections by invited dignitaries, highlighting the company's focus on offering a diverse selection of designs while improving the overall customer experience.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director Subhas M. Kamath described the reopening as a proud moment for the family, emphasising the emotional connection between the original showroom and the generations of customers who have supported the business.

Director Mahesh M. Kamath highlighted the redesigned showroom's emphasis on presenting different jewellery categories in a more accessible and organised environment. He noted that the renovation reflects the company's approach to meeting changing customer preferences while preserving its established identity.

The inauguration was also attended by Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, members of the business community and representatives associated with the jewellery house.

The reopening comes as Abharan Jewellers continues to strengthen its retail presence across Karnataka and Goa. From its beginnings as a single jewellery store in Udupi, the company has expanded into a network of 20 showrooms across 17 locations in eight districts.

The transformation of its founding showroom reflects the company's broader strategy of modernising the jewellery shopping experience while retaining the heritage, craftsmanship and customer relationships that have shaped its growth since 1935. The reopening also reinforces Udupi's importance in the company's history as the birthplace of a jewellery business that has developed into a recognised regional retail name.

Founded in 1935 by Late Shri Burde Sadananda Kamath as Neo Jewellery Mart in Udupi, Karnataka, Abharan Jewellers is an established jewellery retail brand with a legacy spanning more than nine decades. The business was subsequently revived and expanded under the leadership of Madhukar S. Kamath, who established Abharan Jewellers in 1979.

Today, the family-led company operates 20 showrooms across Karnataka and Goa, offering an extensive portfolio of traditional gold jewellery, bridal collections, diamonds, gemstones, heritage ornaments and contemporary designs. Known for its emphasis on craftsmanship, quality and customer relationships, the brand has continued to adapt its product offerings and retail environments to evolving jewellery preferences. Its renovated flagship showroom on CB Road in Udupi represents a continuation of this legacy, connecting the company's historic beginnings with its vision for modern jewellery retail.
