Pune: SS Nagarkar Jewellers has expanded its retail footprint with the opening of a new showroom on Baner-Mhalunge Road, marking its fourth location in Pune and fifth store overall.
The new showroom was inaugurated by Jayshree Firodia, Director, Kinetic Group, alongside industrialists Jagdish Kadam and Mohana Kadam. Long-standing customers M. B. Patil and Sangeeta Patil were also invited to participate in the inauguration, reflecting the family-run jeweller’s emphasis on customer relationships.
Members from multiple generations of the Nagarkar family attended the opening, including Vasant Nagarkar, Vasanti Vasant Nagarkar, Swati Vallabh Nagarkar, Prasad Nagarkar, Pushkar Nagarkar, Priyanka Nagarkar, Anagha Nagarkar, Pooja Nagarkar-Kulkarni, Rohan Kulkarni and Kuhu Nagarkar.
SS Nagarkar Jewellers traces its origins to 1952, when the business was established by Shripad Nagarkar. Today, Vasant Nagarkar works alongside third-generation family members Prasad Nagarkar and Pushkar Nagarkar as the company expands its retail presence while retaining its focus on traditional jewellery and craftsmanship.
The Baner-Mhalunge location has been positioned to serve customers across Pune’s growing western residential corridor. The brand already operates stores in Tulshibaug, Laxmi Road and Kothrud, alongside a showroom in Thane.
The new store carries jewellery across gold, diamonds, polki and silver, with a strong emphasis on Maharashtrian design traditions. The assortment includes styles such as bakuli, pohe haar, thushi, Shrimant haar, Kolhapuri saaj, vajra tika and chandrahaar, alongside traditional pearl jewellery.
The portfolio also extends into Kundan, Geru and moti-kundan jewellery, nakas work, rani haars, Lakshmi haars and other contemporary and occasion-led designs.
Among the store’s key offerings is the Rajwada collection, positioned around one-of-a-kind statement pieces, alongside the brand’s Arya Collection. A dedicated silver section includes pooja articles, idols and larger decorative silverware.
The opening was also accompanied by a community initiative, with the Nagarkar family contributing ₹1 lakh each to three organisations: Suhrud Foundation, Vanchit Vikas and Sanskar Sanjeevan Foundation. The organisations work across areas including support for children with hearing impairment, assistance for disadvantaged communities and social development.
With the Baner-Mhalunge showroom, SS Nagarkar Jewellers is extending a more than seven-decade family legacy into one of Pune’s rapidly developing retail catchments, combining its established Maharashtrian jewellery vocabulary with a broader contemporary assortment.
