Kochi: Sri Jagdamba Pearls has expanded its retail footprint into Kerala with the opening of a new boutique at Cochin International Airport, bringing its pearl and silver jewellery collections to a high-traffic travel retail destination.
The airport opening gives the Hyderabad-based jewellery house access to a diverse customer base comprising domestic and international travellers, tourists and NRIs passing through Kochi.
Sri Jagdamba Pearls traces its heritage to 1924, when founder Sri Fakeerchand Motiwale served as a pearl valuer to the Nizam’s court in Hyderabad. From its origins in the city’s traditional pearl trade, the business has since developed a wider retail presence while retaining pearls as an important part of its identity.
The new Kochi boutique has been curated around lightweight and travel-friendly jewellery, with an assortment spanning 92.5 sterling silver pieces, natural pearl necklaces and earrings, and contemporary gemstone jewellery. The format also positions the store for gifting and last-minute purchases within the airport environment.
Commenting on the opening, Peter Anand, representing Sri Jagdamba Pearls, welcomed travellers to the new location and said the brand is looking to bring its heritage of craftsmanship and customer trust to the Kerala market.
To mark the launch, the boutique has introduced a 10 per cent discount on customers’ first purchase as part of its opening promotion.
The Kochi debut represents a new regional chapter for Sri Jagdamba Pearls, combining its century-old association with pearl jewellery with a contemporary travel-retail format designed to reach customers beyond conventional high-street locations.
