Vizag: Sri Jagdamba Pearls, the century-old jewellery brand known for its pearl craftsmanship, is set to expand its retail presence with a new store in Visakhapatnam (Vizag).
The brand announced its upcoming entry into the city through a social media post, describing the move as the arrival of “a legacy of timeless pearls” to the City of Destiny.
Founded in 1924, Sri Jagdamba Pearls has built its identity around pearls, gold and diamond jewellery, with a long-standing presence in markets including Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The proposed Vizag launch marks another step in the brand’s expansion into key jewellery consumption centres in South India.
While the company has not yet disclosed the exact opening date or store location, the announcement signals its intent to strengthen its physical retail footprint and tap into Vizag’s growing demand for branded fine jewellery.
Visakhapatnam has emerged as an important urban and retail market in Andhra Pradesh, supported by rising consumer spending, expanding organised retail and a strong cultural affinity for gold and traditional jewellery. For established jewellery brands, the city offers access to both local customers and buyers from surrounding districts.
Sri Jagdamba Pearls’ entry is expected to bring its core pearl-led jewellery proposition to a new customer base while also broadening its presence in the gold and diamond segments.
The expansion comes at a time when jewellery retailers across India are increasingly looking beyond major metropolitan centres and strengthening their presence in high-potential regional markets. Cities such as Vizag are becoming strategically important as consumers show growing preference for organised, branded and trust-led jewellery retail.
With the new store, Sri Jagdamba Pearls will look to build on its heritage positioning while introducing its established product portfolio to customers in Andhra Pradesh.
