New Delhi: New Delhi: RK Jewellers collaborated with celebrated couturier JJ Valaya at Hyundai India Couture Week 2026, presenting high jewellery within a collection defined by heritage, intricate craftsmanship and ceremonial grandeur.
For the runway association, RK Jewellers presented creations featuring natural diamonds and rare gemstones alongside Valaya’s couture. Rather than functioning merely as accessories, the jewels became part of the visual narrative, complementing the scale, texture and intricacy of the garments.
The collaboration represents a natural meeting of disciplines. Both couture and high jewellery are shaped by intensive craftsmanship, meticulous detailing and an understanding of pieces created to retain emotional value beyond a single season. While Valaya’s ensembles explored history and cultural identity through fabric and silhouette, RK Jewellers added brilliance, precious colour and the enduring character of heirloom jewellery.
JJ Valaya is regarded as one of the pioneers of India’s luxury fashion industry. He co-founded the House of Valaya with his brother TJ Singh in 1992 and was a founding member of the Board of Governors of the Fashion Design Council of India. Over more than three decades, he has developed a recognisable design language that brings together Indian crafts, historical references and contemporary couture. He is widely known as the “Czar of Indian Couture.”
For Hyundai India Couture Week 2026, Valaya presented Siddi, a collection inspired by the history and cultural journeys of India’s Siddi community, whose roots extend to Africa. The designer approached the subject through the idea of cultural exchange rather than through a literal reproduction of traditional clothing.
The collection extended across bridal and ceremonial silhouettes, including lehengas, saris, anarkalis, sherwanis and bandhgalas. Valaya filtered the inspiration through the House’s established couture vocabulary, using detailed surfaces, structured forms and an unmistakable sense of measured grandeur.
Set against this elaborate design landscape, RK Jewellers’ natural-diamond and gemstone creations reinforced the presentation’s sense of occasion. The jewellery introduced luminosity without competing with the garments, establishing a balance between ornamentation and refinement.
Announcing the partnership on Instagram, RK Jewellers positioned the association as a celebration of couture, high jewellery and exceptional craftsmanship. The collaboration also strengthened the relationship between two forms of Indian luxury traditionally connected with weddings, celebrations and generational legacy.
The 19th edition of Hyundai India Couture Week was organised in collaboration with the Fashion Design Council of India. The 2026 programme began in Hyderabad on 23rd July before continuing at the Taj Palace in New Delhi from 24th to 29th July, with presentations by several leading Indian couturiers.
Through its association with Valaya, RK Jewellers placed its creations within a broader cultural expression—one where jewellery, fashion and Indian craftsmanship came together to shape a contemporary vision of heirloom luxury.
