Pooja Sawant wore a custom scarlet gown designed by Jigyasa Jolly for MODO CALDO. The outfit featured an off-shoulder, hourglass corset top with an angled strapless neckline, covered in subtle pearl handwork from Kalyan Jewellers. The matching mermaid skirt flowed into a long train behind her, creating an unbroken red silhouette from top to bottom.
For her hair and makeup, her locks were styled by Pushpa Devendra into an open, soft wavy blowout parted to the side, which left her neckline bare for her jewellery. Her makeup artist opted for a dewy look with light contouring, soft smoky eyeshadow, and a nude-red lipstick that matched the deep shade of her gown without drawing attention away from her accessories.
The Brand Spotlight
Founded in 1993 by T.S. Kalyanaraman in Thrissur, Kerala, Kalyan Jewellers has grown from a single store into one of India's largest retail jewellery chains. Built on a long family background in the textile trade, the company made its mark early on by displaying its entire inventory on open shelves and bringing clear, fixed pricing to the retail market. Today, the brand operates hundreds of showrooms across India, the Middle East, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
Kalyan Jewellers relies on a regional business strategy, tailoring its product lines to match the local culture and traditions of each state rather than selling the same designs everywhere. To build trust across different regions, the company partners with well-known national actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, and Sara Ali Khan, alongside local stars such as Pooja Sawant in Maharashtra. Their collection includes several specialized sub-brands, such as Muhurat for wedding jewellery, Mudhra and Nimah for antique and temple designs, Anokhi and Glo for modern diamond sets, and Candere, which serves as their online shop for younger buyers.
The Jewellery Decode
The highlight of Pooja Sawant’s ensemble was the collar-style geometric choker from Kalyan Jewellers that sat flat along the base of her neck. The choker featured an openwork lattice pattern built from interlocking rhombus and chevron shapes set in white gold. Her team balanced her gown with modern diamond placement.
The entire frame of the neckpiece was micro-paved with rows of brilliant-cut natural diamonds to reflect light. To connect the jewellery directly to her gown, the designers symmetrically placed square-cut natural rubies inside the geometric shapes. The deep red color of these rubies matched the scarlet fabric of her dress. To finish the look without crowding the neckpiece, she wore a simple single-line diamond tennis bracelet and thin white gold rings studded with small diamonds, leaving the focus on her choker and corset.
This ensemble works remarkably well on Pooja Sawant because it plays directly to her natural features and graceful frame. Drawing attention upward toward her face without cluttering her upper torso or competing with the dress's pearl texture.
