Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor recently turned heads at the grand opening of the new Kalyan Jewellers showroom in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh. The star stepped out to launch the store as the brand continues to expand its reach across the state. Stylist Esha Amiin curated her look for the event, blending classic royal charm with modern craftsmanship.

The Look

Karisma chose a striking pickle-green Kalidar Anarkali made from crushed Banarasi silk tissue. Designed by Punit Balana for his upcoming collection named Moh, the outfit stood out with its deep scoop neck and intricate hand embroidery featuring traditional Marodi and Gota details. Her beauty routine kept things classic and polished, featuring a sleek middle-parted hairstyle left straight down her back. Dark smoky kohl-rimmed eyes, a touch of warm cheek blush, and a soft brownish-nude lipstick gave her ensemble a glowing, timeless feel.
Brand Spotlight

Founded back in 1993 by T.S. Kalyanaraman in Thrissur, Kerala, Kalyan Jewellers has grown from a single regional shop into one of the largest jewellery names in the country. The brand relies on a regional design strategy, tailoring its inventory to fit local wedding cultures and traditions in every city it enters. To expand quickly into smaller hubs like Etawah, Kalyan uses a franchise model where partners own the store while the company manages daily operations. Today, the public company holds a massive market presence with flagship sub-brands including Mudhra for handcrafted antique gold, Muhurat for regional bridal sets, Nimah for detailed temple creations, and Glo or Ziah for everyday modern diamonds.
Jewellery Decode

Karisma selected handcrafted antique gold creations from Kalyan Jewellers' signature Mudhra collection, which focuses on old-world heritage craftsmanship and regal silhouettes to elevate her regal attire. The focal point of her look was a heavy antique gold choker featuring a muted, unpolished matte finish. This piece relied on a structured, panelling layout built with repeating vertical leaf and geometric triangular chevron panels set closely alongside each other. These sharp, sculpted panels created a dramatic flared fan silhouette hugging her neck, framed along the top and bottom inner rims by delicate rows of gold beads.

Completing the set were coordinating geometric statement drop earrings designed specifically to mirror the neckpiece. The earrings carried an identical hourglass and flared leaf motif, giving the entire jewelry pairing a structured, architectural feel. Stylist Esha Amiin intentionally chose solid antique gold over colorful gemstone-studded pieces like rubies or emeralds. By keeping the palette monochromatic, the warm, matte metallic tones of the gold seamlessly matched the intricate Marodi and Gota metallic embroidery work along the outfit’s neckline, allowing the geometry of the gold to take center stage without visual clash.
