Japan: French luxury maison Chaumet has expanded its presence in Japan with the opening of its largest flagship boutique in the Kansai region, strengthening its connection with one of the country’s key luxury markets.
The new boutique opened on 12 September 2026 within the Quartz Shinsaibashi development in Osaka, bringing Chaumet’s total number of official boutiques in Japan to 15.
The inauguration was attended by Chaumet Global CEO Charles Leung and Chaumet Japan General Manager Pierre Couret, alongside global K-pop star Mina from TWICE, who attended the opening ceremony wearing a navy strapless gown styled with a tiara and creations from Chaumet’s signature Joséphine collection.
Spread across multiple floors, the boutique draws inspiration from Chaumet’s historic Parisian home at 12 Place Vendôme, blending French architectural elegance with subtle Japanese influences.
The exterior features the maison’s signature Chaumet Blue alongside wisteria-inspired plasterwork created using traditional Japanese sakan techniques. Inside, the ground floor highlights a dedicated “Tiara Wall”, showcasing nickel-silver moulds inspired by Chaumet’s long heritage of tiara craftsmanship.
The boutique also includes private VIP salons featuring custom artwork by Atelier de la Torre, depicting Osaka Castle through a combination of traditional plaster techniques and gold leaf detailing.
The store presents Chaumet’s iconic collections, including Joséphine, inspired by Empress Joséphine’s love for tiaras; Bee My Love, recognised for its honeycomb motif; and Liens, which uses symbolic knot and cross forms representing connection and relationships. The boutique also features bridal jewellery and Swiss-made timepieces.
The Osaka opening reflects the city’s growing importance as a luxury retail destination in Western Japan. Located along the Midosuji commercial corridor within the 28-storey Quartz Shinsaibashi complex, the boutique places Chaumet alongside leading international luxury brands while catering to local customers and global visitors.
The expansion follows Chaumet’s participation in the Osaka-Kansai World Expo 2025, where the maison presented its “Chaumet, An Ode to Living Nature” installation at the French Pavilion.
With the new Osaka flagship, Chaumet continues to expand its Japanese presence while creating retail spaces that combine heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary luxury experiences.
