Kolkata: CaratLane has opened a new three-floor flagship store in Gariahat, one of Kolkata’s key retail districts, strengthening its presence across Eastern India.
The showroom has been designed with Kolkata-inspired elements and a locally rooted visual language, reflecting the brand’s effort to make the store experience more relevant to the city’s cultural character. The opening was marked by a traditional coal-breaking ceremony, symbolising prosperity and new beginnings.
Commenting on the launch, Saumen Bhaumik, Managing Director, CaratLane, highlighted Kolkata as an important market shaped by strong jewellery traditions and growing demand for contemporary design. He noted that the Gariahat flagship forms part of the company’s broader regional expansion strategy.
The new store houses more than 8,000 designs across everyday wear, bridal jewellery, gifting and occasion-led categories. Key collections include Kaashika, inspired by Banaras; a 60-piece Polki range combining uncut natural diamonds with Meenakari work; Shaya Diamonds, featuring natural diamonds set in sterling silver; and a lightweight 9KT gold collection aimed at younger consumers.
Dedicated sections for solitaires, engagement rings and children’s jewellery further widen the assortment.
To mark the opening, CaratLane has introduced limited-period offers including up to 50 per cent off making charges on selected designs, up to 40 per cent off on diamond value, and an old-gold exchange programme accepting jewellery purchased from other jewellers.
CaratLane currently operates more than 388 stores across India, including 69 locations in Eastern India. West Bengal accounts for 31 stores across 11 cities, with the company planning further expansion in the state.
At the national level, CaratLane is targeting 40–50 new store additions in FY27, supported by strong business momentum and continued customer growth.
With the Gariahat flagship, the brand is combining scale, localisation and a broad product mix to deepen its position in one of India’s most culturally significant jewellery markets.
