Bengaluru: The C. Krishniah Chetty Foundation, the philanthropic arm of C. Krishniah Chetty Group of Jewellers, is set to host the 26th edition of its Scholarship Award Programme on 24 September 2026 at the RBANMS First Grade College campus in Bengaluru.
The annual initiative supports academically strong students from financially disadvantaged families, with a particular emphasis on helping young women continue their education. Over the years, the programme has extended support to more than 4,200 students across schools in Bengaluru.
The scholarship is focused on students in Grades 8, 9 and 10, with applicants required to demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum academic score of 80 per cent. Around 90 per cent of the selected beneficiaries are girls, reflecting the foundation’s emphasis on education as a pathway to greater opportunity for young women.
The initiative extends beyond financial assistance. The foundation also conducts career counselling, science workshops and personal development programmes, giving students additional guidance as they consider higher education and future career paths.
The programme forms part of the community initiatives undertaken by the C. Krishniah Chetty Group of Jewellers, a Bengaluru jewellery house whose history dates to 1869. The brand’s heritage includes serving royal families and dignitaries, alongside a long-standing association with fine jewellery and traditional craftsmanship.
The 2026 ceremony will be led by the foundation’s leadership, including C. V. Hayagriv, Chairman; Dr C. Vinod Hayagriv, Managing Trustee; and Trustees Visala Hayagriv, Triveni Vinod, Chaitanya V. Cotha and Shreyas V. Cotha.
Dr Mehnaaz Ag Nadiadwala, Trustee, MAGN Foundation, will attend as Chief Guest. Guests of Honour will include Shyla K. D., Assistant Director, Directorate of Municipal Administration; Meenakshi J. Kamath, Cultural Advocate and Serial Entrepreneur; Dr Priyanka Abhishek, Co-Founder, Sustainable Fashion Week India; and entrepreneur Menaka Venugopal.
As the programme enters its 26th edition, the initiative reflects how a heritage jewellery business is extending its relationship with its home market beyond retail, using education and long-term community engagement to support the next generation.
