AVR Swarna Mahal Jewellers Launches ‘Golden Van’ Contest Across Chennai

Chennai: AVR Swarna Mahal Jewellers has launched an interactive city-wide contest inviting residents to spot its branded golden van across Chennai for an opportunity to win a 22-karat gold coin.

Running from 1st to 15th August 2026, the campaign combines an on-ground brand activation with social-media participation, encouraging customers to engage with the jewellery retailer both across the city and online.

The campaign was unveiled by Siddhant A.V.R., Director of AVR Swarna Mahal Jewellers, who invited Chennai residents to spot the brand’s golden van across the city during the campaign period. Participants can qualify for the prize by locating the vehicle and completing the prescribed digital engagement steps.

To enter, participants must click a photograph or selfie with the van and post it to their Instagram Story while tagging @avrswarnamahaljewellers. They must then comment on the official contest reel while tagging three friends, share the reel to their Story and follow the jewellery brand’s Instagram account.

The company has specified that all five participation requirements must be completed in the prescribed order for an entry to be considered valid. Missing any step could result in the entry being disqualified. Winners are expected to be announced after 15 August 2026, subject to the campaign’s terms and conditions.

By taking the contest beyond its stores and into Chennai’s public spaces, AVR Swarna Mahal Jewellers is using mobility and discovery to create greater visibility for the brand. The golden van acts as both a campaign symbol and an engagement point, transforming a conventional social-media giveaway into an interactive city experience.

The initiative also encourages user-generated content, as participants share photographs and selfies featuring the vehicle with their own social-media audiences. This approach can help the brand expand its organic reach while creating conversations around gold jewellery and the possibility of winning a precious-metal reward.

The campaign reflects the jewellery retail sector’s increasing use of experiential and digitally integrated marketing strategies. Rather than relying solely on product-led advertising, retailers are introducing contests, mobile activations and social-media challenges to connect with younger and digitally active consumers.

For AVR Swarna Mahal Jewellers, the golden van contest provides an opportunity to combine brand awareness, customer participation and the aspirational appeal of gold. By encouraging Chennai residents to actively search for the van, the retailer is turning the city into an engagement platform while strengthening its visibility during the festive August period.
